Ye Owns Yeezy Trademarks, Prepares For New Footwear

Ye is prepared to make new Yeezy footwear, apparel and accessories as he shared the news Wednesday night, October 26.

A day after Adidas cut ties with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, the fashion designer is looking towards the future. Adidas’ decision cost Ye his billionaire status. According to Forbes, Ye is now worth $400 million dollars, which comes from his music catalog, real estate and his 5% stake in ex-Kim Kardashian’s shapewear company, Skims. The departure from Adidas and others such as GAP and Footlocker, stem from Ye’s series of offensive and antisemitic comments.

But now, West is prepared to rebrand his Yeezy line with new designs in footwear, apparel and accessories. Sharing a text message with Quinn Emmanuel, global white shoe law firm headquartered in Los Angeles, Ye had full control over the Yeezy brand.

“As to Adidas, you can start to make new designs for footwear, apparel and accessories immediately. As to Gap, the non-compete expires December 15, 2022,” read the text from Quinn Emmanuel. “You own the Yeezy name and all trademarks associated with Yeezy.”

Ye would then follow the shared IG post with the following caption, “I haven’t got super model p**** in over a month. Please send help.”

The text comes hours after Ye was escorted out of the Los Angeles office of shoemaker Sketchers, when he appeared unannounced Wednesday afternoon. Ye’s antics prompted the shoemaker to release the following statement:

“Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech. The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices.”
