DaBaby was sitting courtside rooting against Ja Morant, but that didn’t stop the Grizzlies guard from gifting his mom a collector’s item.
Ja Morant continues to keep his head on strong despite recent legal woes. The 23-year-old Memphis Grizzlies point guard has led his team to a 24-13 record this season. Aside from the on court success, Morant has also locked in his first big sneaker deal, becoming Nike’s first Gen Z player to have its own signature shoe, Nike Ja 1.
On Wednesday night, Morant put his Nike Ja 1 on and led the Grizzlies to a 131-107 victory over the Charlotte Hornets. The loss by the Hornets at home came despite courtside support from Charlotte’s own, DaBaby.
As seen in a video shared on Instagram, DaBaby is seen sitting courtside with Ja Morant’s father, Tee. Cheering for opposite teams did not stop DaBaby and Tee Morant from having a good time.
“I got OG in here tonight. In cahoots with the refs. This my dawg right here, man. It’s up right here, you see what I’m sayin’? I got him in here tonight, I’m puttin’ pressure on these boys, man. I got Melo for 12,” said DaBaby on Instagram. “The refs out here acting like we playing in Memphis. Don’t put me out about it, but the refs acting like we playing in motherf***in’ Memphis.”
Tee’s son Ja Morant had 23 points in 27 minutes of play time, but was enough for the Grizzlies to come out on top. After the game Morant gifted a signed jersey to DaBaby’s mother who was extremely excited as she posed with Morant for the gram.
“Ion like how they did but dukes got dat #12,” wrote DaBaby captioning the video for IG as his mother held up her new collector’s item.
