As Ice Spice witnessed Drake put down a memorable night at the Apollo in Harlem, fans seized the moment to create hilarious memes.
Drake was in NYC over the weekend at the Apollo Theater for SiriusXM, with many celebrities witnessing the Billboard Hot 100 record breaking artist. The Bronx native shared videos of herself vibing to Drake’s Saturday performance as she had a front row view. Many fans were shocked and instantly took to social media to question Spice attending Drizzy’s concert.
Drake, who released his collab joint with 21 Savage, “Her Loss,” appeared to take a shot at the up and coming Bronx rapper. In the song “BackOutsideBoyz,” Drake is heard rapping, “She a 10 tryna rap, it’s good on mute.” Adding to the speculation was Drake when he unfollowed Spice.
But, according to the “Gangsta Boo” rapper, her and Drake are on good terms. Killing any rumors of her having issues with the 6 God, Ice Spice told The New York Times, “We’re cool,” she said. “We spoke after that a couple times and we’re good. There’s no beef.”
In a separate interview with Spotify’s RapCaviar, Spice recalled how her and Drake first linked. “When Drake DM’d me, I did not really expect that,” she said of their 2022 encounter. “I had just landed in L.A. for my Genius Open Mic for ‘Munch,’ and he was actually like, ‘Yo, ‘Munch’ is hard and your On the Radar freestyle is hard.’ And I was like, ‘Damn, that’s crazy because I’m really in L.A. about to shoot the Open Mic.’”
Drake would also invite Spice to Toronto where she would attend the OVO Fest and witness Nicki Minaj and lil Wayne put on an incredible show. “Linking up with him was so cool. Like, he’s mad nice and respectful. We went to OVO Fest. It was exciting because it was like his first time performing in Toronto, I think in like a couple of years. So it was just a movie, everybody was excited.
Now that the apparent “beef” with Drake is over and after attending his Harlem show, the internet which remains undefeated had a field day. Besides the comment sections filled with curiosity of what’s to come next, others created hilarious memes. As seen below, Ice Spice’s latest cover her like “Like…?” EP was photoshopped with Drake’s name and face.
