Jim Jones On Drake Bringing Out Dipset In Harlem: U Did That

Drake brings out Dipset and 21 Savage for an epic day 1 of his Apollo performance!

Drake welcomed the entire Dipset on to the stage at the Apollo as he rocked to Cam’s legendary pink coat.

Despite suffering an injury to his ankle, Drake was determined to put on a memorable show in Harlem.

And a memorable show it was as Drake performed lived from the Apollo Theater for SiriusXM last night to a packed crowd of SiriusXM subscribers and VIPs. The show will air on Drake’s exclusive SiriusXM channel Sound 42.

In day one of his two day show (January 21-22) at the Apollo, Drake brought some special guests with him.

Many celebrities were in attendance such as Ice Spice (Who was seen on the gram vibing out to Drake), Kevin Durant, Odell Beckham Jr, Justin and Hailey Bieber, A$AP Ferg, Gayle King, Richie Akvia, Michael Rubin, Will Makris and more, all who witnessed Harlem’s hometown “team” take the stage.

Marking Drake’s first time performance at the Apollo Theater and his first full concert in years, Drizzy rapped some of his classics as the Apollo stage transforming from his childhood bedroom to a record label boardroom, a Harlem bodega and ending with the Apollo sign on stage.

Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey, all hit the stage as Drake paid tribute to Cam’ron famous pink fur coat and hat, yes it was Cam’s actual outfit. “I didn’t just get some new s*** made. This the real one,” said Drake standing in front of the “Harlem Up Deli Market” backdrop.

Drake also gave props to the legendary group before they rocked the stage. “These guys right here from Harlem made us dress different, talk different, walk different, rap different all the way to Canada. So please, the pride of New York to me, make some noise for the Dipset,” said Drake. Dipset would go on to perform “I Really Mean It,” “Dipset Anthem” and “We Fly High (Ballin’).”

After the show, Jim Jones went on his Instagram showing his appreciation for Drake. “Let me put my cup down lol just wanna say thnku i appreciate tonight #dipset #ovo @champagnepapi u did tht.” Drake and Dipset were also seen backstage after their performance soaking in the historic moment.

But, Drizzy wasn’t done yet. Hitting the stage to close out the show, Drake brought out another familiar hip hop face. Next up was 21 Savage as the duo went on to perform songs off their 2022 album “Her Loss.” Some of those performed were “Rich Flex,” “Privileged Rappers” and “Spin Bout You.”

Before ending the show Drake thanked his fans saying  “I appreciate all of those people that stick by me.… but I deeply appreciate everybody for continuing to support us.” He added, “I’ve thought about a bunch of things in life, but at this moment in time none of those things are stopping making music for you, so I’ll be here for you for a little bit at least. And I hope I can strike up more emotions for you, maybe this year. I might get bored and make another one, who knows!”

Drake will perform a second night at the Apollo Theater tonight for SiriusXM.
