DL Hughley Details Heated Kanye West Phone Conversation

Appearing on VLAD TV, DL Hughley reveals that he and Kanye West had a heated phone conversation after the comedian chimed in about Ye’s problems with Kim Kardashian.

Kanye West’s issues with DL Hughley dates back to February of 2022, when VLAD TV posted a clip of their interview with the comedian. On this particular clip, Hughley spoke about Kanye’s recent troubles with Kim Kardashian, where West was consistently airing out their relationship problems all over social media.

On the VLAD TV clip, Hughley gave his thoughts about Kanye’ actions with ex-wife Kim. “He is stalking her,” Hughley said. “If it was my daughter I’d do something about it. I don’t think it is funny. I don’t think you can write a beat so good that you get to do these things.”

Kanye West would then put Hughley’s address on blast and stated he could afford to hurt the comedian. Hughley responded back with a series of tweets clearly not afraid while also mocking West at the same time. “Hmmm! Ain’t it weird that #Kanye supposedly has all these goons who will k–l for him, but not one of them will get his prescriptions filled?,” he tweeted. “Ain’t no way in hell I’d ever be scared of a dude who wears #IKnowWhatDidLastSummerBoots!!! #TeamDl.” And, “#Kanye!! It’s just too bad that you acting like a nut won’t stop #Pete from bustin one!! #TeamDl.”

Hughley was unfazed by Kanye West remarks, but Ye’s actions frighten Hughley’s wife as he explained in a recent interview with VLAD TV, “My wife refused to stay at home for a few days.”

Surprisingly West and Hughley would end up having a phone conversation the very same night West threatened him. “I spoke to him later on that night,” revealed Hughley of his phone conversation with Kanye West. “He said, ‘You said I am a stalker.’ And I said, ‘I believe that to be true.’ We had this heated conversation. He talked about what he would do and I said you won’t do it. We had this argument and it ended up with us shouting at each other and just hanging up.”

Hughley would not identify the 3rd party who had him and Kanye West on the phone initially. “When we got off, he was like, ‘we tried to get y’all together,” said Hughley in the video clip below.
