YoungBoy Promises Change In Music, 1,000 Songs In The Vault
Billboard has released its much anticipated interview with NBA YoungBoy, where the 23-year-old currently resides in Utah on house arrest.
Interview on December 16, 2022 by Meaghan Garvey for Billboard, YoungBoy in a rare interview where the prolific artists reflects on his past and ponders what’s next. Garvey was more than surprised when completing her interview with the talented artists who’s music and videos have been streamed more than 10 billion times.
“Just before Christmas, i went to Salt Lake City to visit YoungBoy, who’s on house arrest in the mountains, where i had one of the most profound, surprising conversations of my life. also ft. Mormon missionairies + Birdman…. just read it 🕊,” she tweeted Wednesday morning (February 1).
During the interview, YoungBoy admits he has grown out of love for music, but vows to make a change in misleading his listeners. “I think I’ve grown out of liking music, like the love for it. But it’s like therapy. It’s the only way I can express myself,” said YoungBoy. “I let things flow out of my mouth, I feel relieved.”
“Look at the s*** I actually put in these people’s ears. I feel very wrong about a lot of things. How many lives I actually am responsible for when it comes to my music,” YoungBoy reflected. “I can’t do it all in one day, but I promise to clean whatever I can clean, but it’s gonna take time.”
The rapper has been on house arrest since October 2021, when a judge granted him permission to serve house arrest in Salt Lake City at the request of his lawyers. Living with wife and two children, YoungBoy awaits freedom and reveals he has 1,000 songs already in the vault.
“I will not be provoked. I will not be broken and I’m not going back to who I used to be,” said YoungBoy. “Accept it or not. I ain’t going back. I’m only getting more groovy from here.”
