Young Thug Accused Of Hand-To-Hand Drug Deal In Court
As jury selection continues for the YSL Rico case involving Young Thug, the rapper is being accused of conducting a hand-to-hand drug deal in court.
Trial has yet to begin and things appear to be heading in the wrong direction. In a week where jury selection is a priority, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, three incidents of contraband being brought into the courthouse have delayed the already lengthy jury selection.
Now it appears Young Thug has contributed to the delay. As first reported by Michael Seiden of WSBTV via a Tweet Thursday night, “Prosecutors say the surveillance shows Adams walk over to where Young Thug is seated with his attorney and then drop a Percocet in his hand. A deputy confronts Young Thug and he turns over the pill to authorities.”
This incident occurred on Wednesday (January 18), with video leaking to the public 24 hours later. Seiden also added, as told by investigators, that deputies searched co defendant Kahlieff Adams and found him in possession of Percocet, marijuana and tobacco wrapped in plastic and food seasonings to conceal the odor of weed.
Making matters worse, “Adams was then taken to Grady Hospital after he appeared to ingest other items of contraband in an effort to conceal the extent of his crimes within the courtroom,” said Seiden in a tweet.
According to Young Thug’s attorney, Keith Adams, Young Thug had no prior knowledge that Adams was going to hand him Percocet. “One of the co defendants on his way to the restroom, attempted to pass something to Mr. Williams, who immediately turned it over to the deputies,” said Adams in an interview on Thursday.
Thankfully for Young Thug he was not charged after the incident was fully investigated. According to Jozsef Papp of AJC, “The responsibility parties were charged and appeared in court for first appearances this morning.”
As per AJC: On Tuesday, a defendant’s mother was arrested after allegedly bringing “tobacco products” to her son in a bag of clothes, according to her arrest warrant. On Wednesday, another defendant was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital following a separate instance of contraband being brought into court for a third consecutive day of court proceedings.
