Wright Jr. Says YES Jay-Z Was Robbed On An Elevator In L.A.

Former head of security for Death Row records, Reggie Wright Jr., says Jay-Z getting robbed in Los Angeles is factual.

According to Wright Jr., not only is Suge Knight telling the truth, but Reggie was the one who informed Knight about the robbery. “I heard him tell the story before. I know the story. I’m sure I’m the one that told him about the story,” Wright said during an interview with Cam Capone News.

Earlier this month, an old Suge Knight interview on the Last Call with Carson Daly, went viral. In the interview from 2001, Knight gave his thoughts on Jay-Z. According to the former CEO of Death Row records, Jay-Z was robbed in L.A. “I think JAY-Z is … he does what he do,” Knight said. “Which is some good stuff, but you know. The only thing I know about JAY-Z is that he came to L.A. a few times, and Snoop [Dogg] and [Dr.] Dre told him that, ‘When you on the West Coast — you wrote a song for me — don’t worry ’bout nothing. Next thing I know, he’s taped up, robbed, and gagged. … Out in L.A.”

Not too long after the video went viral, Memphis Bleek responded back, stating such claims by Knight were “cap.” When asked by a Twitter user, Bleek wrote, “🧢🎓🎩👒🪖⛑ every cap in the world 🤣😂.” The New York rapper was one of Rock-A-Fella’s first signee and continues to show his loyalty for Jay-Z.

Despite Memphis Bleek’s response, Wright Jr. claims the incident did occur. In fact, Reggie says it happened in an elevator. “It wasn’t just happening to Jay-Z, it was happening to a lot of people. L.A. was wild like that,” Wright Jr. explained, stating robbing artists for their 25K diamond Rolex’s was a “thing” in L.A. during that time. “I know he got robbed in the elevator. Things always happen to Jay-Z in the elevator.”
