Wayno, host of the Hear Me Out Podcast, appeared on The Bootleg Kev Podcast where he explained why he thinks Lil Wayne is a better rapper than Tupac Shakur.
Best rapper of all time has always been and will always be up for debate. According to Wayno, there is no debate when it comes to Lil Wayne’s greatness over Tupac. After host Bootleg Kev suggested that Lil Wayne and Tupac were both in the same tier, Wayno disagreed. “Wayne is a way better rapper than Tupac,” Wayno said. “And, there’s a lot of people who probably send me death threats for that. I don’t give a f–k.”
Kev can relate to threats as he shared the time he said Tupac was overrated as an MC. The host recalls his wife receiving death threats via her social media accounts. “They were DM’in my wife threating her,” Kev explained. “She had to make a her page private. People don’t play about Tupac. It’s two people, ‘Pac and Kobe, you can’t say nothing about.”
This is very true when it comes to Tupac supporters. Take Lil Xan for instance, who once called Tupac’s music “boring” during an interview with Revolt TV. Back in 2018 when Lil Xan was asked to say something about Tupac, the rapper said, “boring”. After recieving backlash for his comments, Lil Xan attempted to clarify his “boring” statement as he blamed the media for twisting his words. “I think Tupac is a legend,” Xan told the crowd on hand for a meet and greet.
A year later on June 7th Lil Xan was approached by a Tupac fan at a gas station who asked Xan why he was talking s–t about Tupac during his Revolt TV interview. Xan and the fan got into a heated argument with Xan pulling out a firearm on the man.
Although Kev and Wayno admit they are huge fans of Tupac’s music, they both don’t considered Tupac the greatest of all time. Wayno made his argument by stating that Kayne West is in a class of Michael Jackson. “I don’t think Tupac is in the class of Michael Jackson,” Wayno explained.
Wayno isn’t the only one to consider Lil Wayne as a greater rapper than Tupac. Recently Wicked of Ghetto Mafia made similar comments when he appeared on BHighTV. Wicked considers Tupac the “people’s champ”, but not greater than Wayne. Part of Wicked’s argument is Wayne selling more records than Tupac. Many would say this is not a fair argument given the fact Shakur passed away at the age of 25.
“I don’t wanna hear who die and what they would have been if they didn’t die,” Wicked explained during the 3 min mark of the interview. Wicked would go to say that Tupac’s debut album was dropped by Interscope records because the album did not sell, but in fact Tupac’s music was pulled off the shelves because of the content in his music. Which in itself was ridiculous at the time. According to Wicked, Wayne has been famous for decades given him one of the reasons why he is should be considered the GOAT.
