Update On Tekashi 69 Paid 500K For Breakfast Club Interview
The on going “beef” between Tekashi 69 and The Breakfast Club continues as according to rumors, the Brooklyn rapper was paid half a million dollars for an interview.
During Wednesday’s edition of the Rumor Report by Angela Yee, Bobby Shmurda‘s parole conditions were discussed. Part of the conditions is Shmurda’s curfew of 8 p.m. and not being allowed to drink any alcohol or attend any bars. Charlamagne used the opportunity to set the record straight on a rumor which apparently has Tekashi 69 telling Shmurda he was paid 500K for his Breakfast Club interview.
It is unknown which interview he is speaking of, as Tekashi appeared on two different occasions. His first appearance three years ago on March 23, 2018 and his last one later that same year when he announced his departure from Trey Way. Both interviews have generated millions of views. In fact his first interview is the most watched interview ever on The Breakfast Club with 20 millions views, a feat which Tekashi said would happen.
“There’s an artist that told Bobby Shmurda that he got paid half a million dollars to do a Breakfast Club interview and that he gets residuals, royalties from the YouTube interview.,” Charlamagne said on air. Envy quickly jumped and called the artist a liar and would later name that artist in Tekashi 69.
Adding to the rumor was the apparent royalties Tekashi receives from the interview uploaded on YouTube. A rumor that The Breakfast Club denies. Angela Yee shocked by the rumor, also was surprised to hear that Tekashi and Shmurda speak.
