Update On Rapper Polo G’s Arrest, His Mother Speaks Out
After dropping his much anticipated album “Hall Of Fame”, Polo G was arrested Saturday morning (June 12) and hit with three felonies.
The 22-year-old Chicago native was arrested around 8 a.m. Saturday morning and charged with two misdemeanors, resisting a police officer without violence and criminal mischief. According to online jail records, Polo G was later released on bond.
It all started around 12:30 a.m. where the car in which Polo G was in was pulled over. The Miami Herald is reporting that Polo G allegedly got into an altercation with police and hit one officer multiple times in the head.
Coming off a number one hit with “Rapstar”, Polo G was in Miami celebrating the release of his new album “Hall of Fame” which features the likes of Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Roddy Ricch, DaBaby, and Lil Durk. Prior to his arrest, the rapper posted on Instagram celebrating his early number 1 spot amongst all the new releases for the week, topping the Migos Culture 3.
Polo G has yet to comment on the incident, but his mother Stacia Mac took to Twitter and express her disappointment. “None of these charges would be possible if the POLICE did not make contact with my son Polo G!!! He was NOT the driver. He was a PASSENGER in a professionally licensed vehicle with security. He was moving smart and correctly. What more could he have done,” she tweeted.
In a video deleted and re-posted by The Shade Room, Polo G’s mother calls out the police department. “We’re in Miami and we just left Polo G’s release party. My kids call me in a frenzy saying that the police are all behind them, 30 cars deep,” Stacia Mac says in the video. “This is not an exaggeration. What is ridiculous is the fact that a young black man can celebrate his success and still be looked at as a motherf—ka n—–.”
