Meek Mill had no problem celebrating his Eagles win over the 49ers with a freestyle over Tupac’s classic diss record “Hit ‘Em Up.”
On Sunday (January 29), Philly native Meek Mill witnessed his Eagles dominate and secure a win over the San Francisco 49ers. Ensuring they advanced to Super Bowl LVII, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the 49ers 31-7.
But, the lopsided victory was not enough for Meek Mill who watched the game in the Lincoln Financial Stadium suite with Kevin Hart, Lil Baby, James Harden, Joel Embiid, Michael Rubin, and former Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson.
Meek took to social media and dropped a diss record taunting 49ers fans and boasting about his team’s victory. Inspired by one of hip hop’s greatest diss records of all time, Meek freestyled over Tupac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” beat where he also took a shot at 49ers quarterbacks Brock Purdy and Josh Johnson, both leaving the game due to injuries.
“This for all my 49ers fans right here
First off, f*** ya clique and the team you claim
Northside, Southside this an Eagles game
Y’all claim to keep it playa, but we packed ya bag
plus the other quarterback,
y’all couldn’t even pass it back,” rapped Meek in the brief video.
Tupac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” continues to inspire and influence 26 years later, as it remains arguably the number one diss record of all time. Last year during an episode of My Expert Opinion podcast, the infamous diss record was up for discussion when Brooklyn legendary duo, Tek-N-Steele appeared as special guests.
During the interview things became heated and an altercation almost occurred. Co-host Sean Bigga claiming Tupac was dissing New York babies, infuriated Tek-N-Steele who had a close bond with Shakur. The duo had linked with Tupac at his home in L.A. during the height of the alleged East Coast West Coast war, and were not too happy about Bigga’s comments.
