Performances featuring star-studded lineups in New York, Miami, Toronto, Netherlands and Portugal, Rolling Loud has creating many memorable moments, including some that have gone wrong.
Here are our recent top 3 Rolling Loud moments that went left.
3. DaBaby Backlash
Back in 2021, DaBaby caught serious backlash for what some claimed to be homophobic remarks at Rolling Loud.
During his Rolling Loud performance, DaBaby told the Miami crowd, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up. Ladies, if your p—y smell like water, put your cellphone light in the air. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d–k in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”
As a result DaBaby lost out on his deal with boohooMan clothing line. It would take about 2 months before DaBaby was booked again for a show, after various performances were cancelled in the summer of 2021.
DaBaby did explain himself via a video post on Instagram, ““Imma address this weak-a– internet s— one time, and then I’m a get back to giving my love to my fans. What me and my fans do at the live show, it don’t concern you n—-s on the internet, or you bitter b—-es on the internet. It’s not your business,” he said on the gram. “What I do at a live show is for the audience at the live show, it’ll never translate correctly to someone looking a little five-six second clip from their goddamn crib on their phone. It just don’t work like that.” Along with the video came a statement via IG as well.
Eventually DaBaby made his way back onto a Rolling loud stage with the help of 50 Cent. Approved by Rolling Loud organizers, 50 Cent surprised the crowd on hand at Citi Field as DaBaby hit the stage. (Watch: 50 Cent Brings Back DaBaby At Rolling Loud New York)
2. Tory Lanez Order Protection
On that infamous night back July 2021 in Miami for Rolling Loud, DaBaby had a surprise guest in the building. “I’ll give somebody out here a million dollars if they can guess who in here,” DaBaby said to the packed crowd. “I got a million dollars right now if you can guess who… Who you think?”
Yes, Tory Lanez was revealed at the surprise guest. Social media quickly responded and Twitter blew up. After going back-n-forth tweeting with Megan The Stallion fans and supporters, Lanez closed out his Twitter session responding to XXL Magazins’s headline.
Tory Lanez would go to retweet XXL Magazine’s post about him possibly violating Megan’s restraining order against him. Tory accompanied the retweet with a couple of laughing emoij’s and the following reply, ” Oh … so …. this is the next one we coming with ???”
Well, weeks later in August, Lanez appeared in court at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles, where a judge ordered him to pay $250,000 bail after the rapper violated a protective order that required him to stay at least 100 yards away from Megan The Stallion.
1. Kid Cudi Off Stage @ Rolling Loud Miami
Less than a week after he replaced Kanye West as a headliner at Rolling Loud Miami, Kid Cudi stormed off stage.
The performance on July 22nd of 2022, quickly came to a halt after crowd members repeatedly threw things onto the stage.
“Yo, I will walk off this stage if you all throw one more f**king thing up here, I will leave, I will leave right now,” he said. “Throw one more fucking thing on this stage and I’ll walk off, I’m not f**king playing. I’m not f**king playing, you will ruin it for everybody. I’ll f**king leave If I get hit with one more f**king thing, if I see one more f**king thing on this f**king stage, I’m leaving. Don’t f**k with me.”
As seen below, the crowd did not listen and Cudi stormed off the stage.
