TheHxliday Drops New Single And Music Video For “Opps”

Creating his own lane, TheHxliday continues his road to superstardom right before our very eyes as he releases his latest single “Opps”.

TheHxliday is impressively versatile, swinging from candy-coated trap to emo-tinged balladry to propulsive R&B without breaking a sweat. Continuing his custom of dropping music on special occasions, the Motown Records signee celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with “Opps,” a speaker-knocking new single. Populated with booming 808s and buzzing synths from Damian Vinh Hien Hoffmanns, “Opps” finds Hxliday alternating high-register runs with quick bursts of triplet rhymes as he warns his enemies that he’s always watching.

Directed by SeventhKevin, the video for “Opps” is as brazen and confident as the song itself. The video starts with TheHxliday pulling up in a Bentley, and proceeds to transform him into an iced-out baby, amidst a host of other situations that spotlight the young artist’s fresh style. “Opps” is the Baltimore native’s first new song since the release of Batbxy, his recent EP.

Released on New Year’s Day, Batbxy shows off TheHxliday’s uncanny knack for infectious, and other worldly melodies. Across the EP’s six tracks, which include singles like moody “Thank U” and the carefree “Laugh A Little,” the young artist sings with an uplifting energy that belies the pain expressed in the lyrics. Most recently, TheHxliday released an emotional visual for the R&B-influenced banger “Nxbody,” and a romantic clip for his Gen Z love anthem “Batgirl.”

Batbxy is merely the first salvo in what’s shaping up to be a busy 2021 for TheHxliday. Since he started posting to SoundCloud in his adolescence, he’s made upwards of 1,000 songs, including his his emotional 2018 breakout “Enemy,” which caught the attention of tastemaking multimedia crew Lyrical Lemonade.
