The Game’s Top 5 L.A. Rap Albums Includes Dr. Dre’s “Chronic”

On this week’s episode of ‘Fresh Pair’ with Katty Customs and Just Blaze, west coast hip-hop legend, The Game, gets real and shares his top five favorite LA rap albums of all time.

L.A. has indeed produced many hip hop classics. The Game, who’s “The Documentary’ debut album on Dr. Dre’s Aftermath records, is one of those undeniable pieces of work straight outta the west coast. In fact, The Game would agree, as he had no problem in adding his second studio album when naming his top 5 favorite L.A. rap albums of all time.

Kicking off the list for The Game was Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, which he says was “lowkey Snoop’s first album.” The Compton rapper also went on to name Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle as another one of his favorites.

Kendrick Lamar‘s Good Kid Mad City was also praised by The Game which felt A Grammy was due for Lamar’s second studio album. “I watched Kendrick in his essence, going from literally a good kid in a mad city. How he fought through being non affiliated and staying the course,” The Game said. Kendrick’s Good Kid Mad City peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 3 million copies domestically. Closing out The Game’s top 5 favorite L.A. albums was Ice Cube’s Death Certificate.
