Bobby Shmurda could be Roc Nation’s latest signee and Tekashi 69 finds it very hypocritical.
It has been four months since Shmurda’s release from prison after accepting a plea deal back in 2016 consisting seven-year sentence and credit for two years time. The deal allowed Rowdy Rebel an early release back in December of 2020.
Hours before Shmurda’s release his mother said her son would first enjoy time with his loved ones before hitting the studio. Four months later and still no new music from the Brooklyn rapper. But that all can change very soon as Shmurda on an IG Story video was seen leaving the Roc Nation office. In the video Shmurda is heard saying, “If it’s up then it’s up, n—-a,. Gang.” Shmurda is also set to perform at Jay-Z’s Made In America festival this summer.
After Akadamiks re-posted the Bobby Shmurda IG Story video, Tekashi 69 quickly jumped into the comments and shared his opinion. “They hate ratting and cooperating with police but SIGN to roc nation (Who’s CEO is a cooperating federal informant for the DEA) but pick and choose,” 6ix9ine wrote.
Tekashi is referring to Desiree Perez who was appointed as CEO of Roc Nation back in 2019. Just as Lil Wayne and Kodak Black — Perez also received a pardon from former President Donald Trump.
Tekashi wasn’t quite done yet and made sure to mention those close to Lil Durk who have lost their life. “People hate it because it comes from me. But it’s cool I’m still untouched it’s been a year since I been home I’ve done shows I been in night clubs I done everything people told me I couldn’t do. So they hate me because I proved the world wrong. I would hate me too. By the way quando untouched too and lil Tim and I remember them saying he lucky he in jail. F*** Von and we smoking Dthang now.” Dthang is Durk’s older brother who was tragically shot and killed earlier this month. (Read: LIL DURK’S BROTHER PASSES, TEKASHI 69 AND KING VON’S UNCLE RESPOND)
