After kicking off his 2023 onslaught of releases last month, rising Hip-Hop star Riichylee is back with his second single of the year, “Russian Cream,” on all digital platforms.
Over the fanfare of a driving, mid-tempo track, reminiscent of the soundtrack to a sporting event, the Bronx native puts his lyrical ability and agility on full display. His clever wordplay elevates the music itself, allowing Riichylee to create unique cadences and sounds throughout the song. But paying attention to the lyrics, fans will find the young artist remind them with full confidence that not only has he claimed his position in the music universe, but he also has no intention of ever giving up that spot.
The song’s title itself is another example of Riichylee expert use of double entendres and his ability to flip everyday life moments into songs that are larger than life. The idea of naming a song after the popular flavor “Russian Cream” flavor of Backwoods cigars – a favorite among his entourage – started as a joke. “I was being goofy, telling my homeboy, ‘I’m about to make a song called Russian Cream,’ because he had so many of them around.”
Song title aside, Riichylee’s latest creation is a celebration of opulence, a point driven home by the song’s accompanying music video, which finds the Chinese-American rapper at the center of a decadent and sensual kickback.
“Russian Cream” arrives on the heels of Riichylee’s standout performance alongside Sonhe Hott and Wescravemusic on “Push Start,” released at the top of last month. Both songs are evidence that the young rapper’s early success with songs like “OD Love” and “Candy Pain” were far from a fluke.
