After festival’s across the country and radio stations cancelled DaBaby, multi-platinum singer Miley Cyrus has other suggestions and has reached out to the rapper.
On Wednesday evening (August 4th) Cyrus took to her official Instagram account where she offered help to DaBaby. The singer is hoping for more of an understanding rather than canceling DaBaby for his controversial remarks at Rolling Loud. Cyrus would post a statement on her Instagram along with the following caption, “@DaBaby check your DMS – would love to talk and see how we can learn from each other and help be part of making a more just and understanding future!”
The Grammy winner wrote the following as an IG post:
“As a proud and loyal member of the LGBTQIA+ community, much of my life has been dedicated to encouraging love, acceptance, and open mindedness. The internet can fuel a lot of hate & anger and is the nucleus of cancel culture…but I believe it can also be a place filled with education, conversation, communication & connection.
The Internet can fuel a lot of hate & anger and is the necleus of cancel culture…but I believe it can also be a place filled with education, conversation, communication & connection.
It’s easier to cancel someone than to find forgiveness and compassion in ourselves or take the time to change hearts and minds. There’s no more room for division if we want to keep seeing progress! Knowledge is power! I know I still have so much to learn!”

This comes hours after Azealia Banks suggested to keep DaBaby canceled and even reminded everyone about his 2020 incident. Back on March 7th of 2020, DaBaby had performed at Whiskey North in Tampa, Fla. As the rapper made his way through the crowd, he is seen via surveillance camera hitting a woman. According to DaBaby he was hit with a phone and that is why he struck the fan. The rapper would also give an explanation and an apology via his IG Story. “I do sincerely apologize, I do. I’m very sorry that that was a female on the other end of that flashlight, that phone. Keep in mind I couldn’t see,” he explained.
But, Banks could careless as she wrote the following on her IG Story, “Y’all should have BEEN canceled Dababy when he was caught on camera punching a female fan in the face,” she wrote. “I’m not believing any of this performative canceling ppl are doing now when everyone was so quick to forget that happened. Apology or not, keep him canceled.”
