Method Man And His Son PXWER Working On Collaboration Album
Hip hop icon, Method Man, is set to collaborate with his son and 2nd Generation Wu member, PXWER.
As reported by PageSix, Method Man made the announcement on stage at the Irving Plaza during an event for NFT/Web3 company Artie. “Method Man introduced his son to the crowd and let everyone know they are working on an album together,” an attendee told PageSix. “It was a really cute, proud moment.”
The 26-year-old along with Young Dirty Bastard, son of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, as well as Ghostface Killah’s son, Sun God, and U-God’s son, iNTeLL, form the 2nd Generation Wu hip hop group. At the age of 10, PXWER recorded on his own music with a recorder his mom brought him for his birthday, pumping out a total of 3 “albums.”
Although his man focus was playing football, PXWER eventually went back to his true passion. Listening to artists such as Capital STEEZ, Joey Bada$$, Nas, Kendrick Lamar, and Wu-Tang to name a few, he felt a spark to pick up the pen and never putting it back down.
PXWER’s first cassette tape was actually his father’s second album Tical 2000: Judgement Day. Now him and his father are set to drop an album together. Back in 2020, Meth worked with the newer group on the remix ”Next Generation.” “It’s dope to work with my pops,” his son told HipHopDX. “It’s like a dream come true to be honest… Not many up and coming artists can say they worked with a hip hop legend like Method Man.”
Before dropping the album with his father, PXWER will release his ‘Before The Album’ on July 14th. Stay Tuned with Hip Hop XXIV for more.
