Chicago rapper Lil Durk drops an updated version of his album The Voice with new songs and features.
Originally releasing the first edition of The Voice in December last year, Lil Durk landed his first Number 1 album in the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. It also serves as a dedication to Lil Durk’s good friend King Von who was fatally shot in November. The Voice album cover shows King Von and Lil Durk seated together.
This new edition of The Voice features 12 new tracks with more guest features. Listeners can expect to hear from Lil Baby on “Finesse Out The Gang”, Pooh Shiesty on “Should’ve Ducked” and Sydny August on “Love You”.
Lil Durk also includes the Kanye West inspired track titled Kanye Krazy. The song touches on their Chicago roots, Kanye’s mental health and even references a 2013 interview with Sway. The addition of 12 new songs takes the album’s total to a phenomenal 28 songs. In addition, the Chicago rapper recently announced that he wanted $200,000 to perform at each show. Last year, Lil Durk spoke to Forbes about his drive and focus when in the studio making music. He said: “I’m big on the studio. I like to stay in it 24/7. We don’t go to the studio to party. This is my safe zone, my comfort zone. It’s family anyways. It’s like not just I’d be inviting everybody to the studio. So when it’s just me and the engineer now, it’s more fun. I can leave the studio, show them the new music and surprise them with it.”
