Often dubbed as the greatest of all time by his peers, Lil Wayne was asked to select someone other than himself and Weezy chose Jay-Z.
Appearing on former NFL player Marcellus Wiley on his More To It podcast, Lil Wayne initially selected Biggie Smalls as hip hop’s G.O.A.T. That was until he apparently had misunderstood the question. Although Wayne did not elaborate on what he thought the initial question was, Weezy selected Hov for rap’s greatest.
“The greatest rapper of all time Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. When you do this rapping thing, obviously like Football, every sport is different. You play Hockey, I’m sure they got something that they only know about. Something that they probably can’t explain, but only they know. That thing in rap, that we only know in rap, he has that. Apart from being a fan of Hov’s rap skills, Wayne is forever grateful as Jay helped him get through a major hurdled back in 2012.
