Is Nick Cannon Really Back As “Wild ‘N Out” Host?
After 8 months from being removed as the host of “Wild ‘N Out”, according to reports Nick Cannon has been invited back to the show.
Nick Cannon was fired in the summer of 2020 by ViacomCBS for his anti-semitic comments. Cannon speaking on his podcast “Cannon’s Class” on June 30th led to the demise of his long relationship with ViacomCBS, the parent company of MTV and Nickelodeon. Cannon also lost his role as executive producer and chairman of TeenNick.
During the episode with special guest Public Enemy affiliate Professor Griff, Cannon stated, “It’s never hate speech, you can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people. When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.”
Although Cannon tweeted and took full responsibility, apparently at the time it was not enough as ViacomCBS said Cannon failed to “acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism”.
Now according to Variety, Nick Cannon and ViacomCBS have reunited. What changed? Well according to Variety, Cannon took the necessary steps to make things better by engaging and partnering with Jewish leaders and make amends for his anti-Semitic statements.
At the moment Nick Cannon has not commented on his reunion with ViacomCBS and hosting “Wild ‘N Out” again, as he is currently in quarantine after contracting the coronavirus.
