Grandmaster Flash: Dr. Dre’s New Album Will Change The Game

One of hip hop’s pioneer had the exclusive honor of listening to Dr. Dre’s new album which will “change the game.”

For long hip hop has awaited Dr. Dre’s “Detox” album. Hundreds if not thousands of songs have been scratched and at one point we thought we would never hear a new Dre project. Now it appears we are closer than ever to hearing new music from the rap icon.

Grandmaster Flash took to his Instagram account Sunday night where he posted a photo of himself and Dr. Dre. Along with the photo was a caption that read, “Here in LA doing the Disco Oasis with Nile Rogers tonite, I get a call from one of my heroes he invites me to the CRIB he takes me down to the STUDIO he played me a project that will change the game!! Totally incredible, we top off the day for 2hrs talkin about Music, Family Health and Life thanks for the Invite Dr Dre.”

This is the first big news as it relates to a new Dr. Dre album since early this year. Back in February, DJ Silk previewed a song with Dre featuring Crooked I a.k.a KXNG Crooked. Prior to dropping the snippet via IG Live, Silk, the Grammy nominated Aftermath producer shared a photo of himself with the two artists with the caption, “Progressive Progression what yall know about that!!!” KXNG Crooked also took to Twitter sharing a photo of himself with Dre in studio. “I told the Goat I’m on a mission with this one! #COB,” Crooked tweeted.

In the snippet Dr. Dre is heard rapping about his divorce and recent visit to the hospital due to a brain aneurysm. “Trying to kill me with them lies and that perjury, I see you trying to f— me while I’m in surgery,” Dre raps in the snippet. “In ICU, death bed, on some money shit / Greedy b—-, take a pick, girl you know how money get.” KXNG Crooked is also heard in the snippet supplying a verse and hook.

Not much has leaked about Dr. Dre’s fourth studio album. There is no question the pressure is on for Dre to deliver a classic, especially if it has taken him this long to finally drop his “Detox” project.
