Top 10 hip hop earners of 2021 generated a total of one billion dollars collectively. But who made the list and who is number one?
Author and blogger, Zack O’Malley Greenburg, created the top 10 list using various factors. Pretax income for 2021, before deducting fees for agents, managers, lawyers and living expenses. Along with MRC Data, Pollstar and other databases. Greenburg also interviewed those involved including some of the artists themselves.
Regardless of the accuracy, the top 10 earners in hip hop for 2021, doesn’t come as a surprise. Rounding up the list are main stream artists, to well established entrepreneurs, to independent artists such as Tech N9ne.
The top 10 list also consists of only one female and three were tied for the number 10 spot. Dojo Cat who came in at number 10 as the only female artist, generated an estimated $25 million. A thriving international presence and partnerships with brands from Pepsi to CandyCrush, was key to Cat’s success in 2021.

Eminem will have no problem duplicating such success especially after performing at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, which has helped his streaming numbers tremulously to kick off 2022.
