Appearing on The Breakfast Club, Diddy addresses Mase and accusations claiming the hip hop legend is a theft.
According to Diddy he has earned every penny through hard work and not by stealing from his artists. In fact, Diddy has been grinding since the age of 12 selling newspapers and became a millionaire at the age of 19.
When asked why such a narrative exists as it’s coming from various artists, Diddy says it comes down to the blame game. “People have this thing called the tap out button. When you get to a certain point and the money is running low, you gotta run this hustle to find somebody to blame,” Diddy explained. “I do have all my receipts.”
Diddy also has plans for a special with artists to clear up any false narratives. “It comes from different tactics, when people want to come out of their contracts and a lot of people that speak on this, ya’ll don’t know the business. Ya’ll don’t know what you’re talking about. So it’s gonna be a teaching moment of love,” he added.
The hip hop mogul admits he isn’t perfect, but he is indeed prepared to fight for his reputation. “I will make sure the truth comes out, because that’s not going down in my legacy,” Diddy said.
No word yet if Mase will be part of that conversation. The Harlem rapper has continuously blamed Diddy for allegedly stealing from his artists. Back in 2020, Mase blasted Diddy for his speech which called out the Grammys for not respecting hip hop and threatened to boycott. Mase found these remarks hypocritical and urged Diddy to walk the talk.

“I heard your Grammy speech about how you are now for the artist, and about how the artist must take back control. So I will be the first to take that initiative. Also, before we ask other ethnicities to do us right, we should do us, as Black people, better—especially the creators,” he wrote on Instagram tagging Diddy.Diddy questioned Mase’s claims on his appearance on The Breakfast Club. “Just in general, the Mase thing. I did one album with Ma$e. One album. How much money do you think I owe this guy,” Puff said in reference to Ma$e’s debut 1997 album Harlem World. “And then he became a fake pastor and went and conned people. And y’all gon’ let him throw dirt on the god’s name. Anybody can come and step up. Bring your receipts. But I’m not playing. I’m back outside and I’m fighting back for us. And I’m also doing some fighting back for me.” Part of Diddy’s receipts is the $3 million Diddy claims Mase owes him.
After the interview was released Wednesday morning (October 5), Mase took to Instagram in response to Diddy. “You see how people act when you won’t let them come on stage and get their fake apologizes so they could promote that little wack song, Mase said laughing via an audio uploaded on his IG. Along with the sound bite, Mase wrote in the caption, “He just 😡😡😡 I did not want him to come on stage with me to give his fake apology. You’re high chill out!🥲😂😂😂😂😂 I’M GOOD LOVE ❤️”
