Chris Brown has been often compared to pop icon Michael Jackson, but has never responded to such praise until now.
Chris Brown chart topping singles, countless awards, incredible dancing ability all of which contribute to amazing live performances, has all contributed to many comparing Breezy to MJ. Appearing on Big Boy TV for the “Big Interview,” Chris Brown calls “cap” on such comparisons.
Breezy continued to give it up to his idol Michael Jackson. “My personal take on it is that I wouldn’t be breathing or be able to sing a song if that man didn’t exist,” Brown said. “I don’t know if they look at it as a [Michael] Jordan and Kobe [Bryant] thing, but I can’t even look at it. He’s lightyears ahead.”
Back in 2019, close friend Justin Bieber also made the comparison to MJ with his own IG post. This particular post had Chris Brown as the outcome of a Tupac plus MJ equation. Bieber captions the post with the following, “Everyone wants to wait til people die To give them the credit they deserve. I’m calling it now when CB passes away after a long full life, you will miss what you had in front of you the whole time. Trust me watch you will see. The people who have over looked this mans talent because of a mistake he made. You need to reevaluate! Love you.”
Breezy also noted that he learned so much from MJ, including being “fearless” with your art. “It’s just my fearlessness,” Brown explains. “It allows me to be like, ‘Cool, I don’t even car what they gonna say or who this is gonna look.’ Ima dance.”
