Appearing on Vlad TV, Boosie Badazz still believes something ain’t right when it comes to DaBaby “falling off” and low sales.
Back in September, DaBaby released his fourth studio album “Baby on Baby 2,” which debuted at number 34 on the Billboard 200. The album only moved around 17,000 equivalent units in its first week. The staggering low sales shocked many, including Boosie Badazz who took to Twitter expressing his disbelief.
“Ain’t no way my ni*** @DaBabyDaBaby supposed to sell 16k after selling almost 150k his last first week ‼️he one of the BIGGEST n this shit ‼️I DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON BUT SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY GOING ON ‼️,” wrote Boosie. (View: Boosie Badazz Questions DaBaby’s “Baby on Baby 2” Low Sales)
In a new clip shared on Vlad TV, Boosie explained his tweet. “You know that’s how I feel. You know that’s how you feel because I’m dealing with people who push buttons. You know, so that’s how I feel about that situation. He stayed in the headlines. I just felt that way,” Boosie said, referring to his tweet back in September.
Vlad argued that DaBaby fell victim to the fast changing listeners of hip hop, who got bored of the “Suge” rapper’s style. Boosie on the other hand questioned Vlad. “Who is on the top right now that their style ain’t the same way,” said Boosie referring to rappers such as J. Cole, Kendrick, Lil Baby and Drake.
Boosie also stated that Dababy name dropping Megan Thee Stallion should have automatically generated 14K in sales. Featured on the album was the song “Boogeyman,” DaBaby claimed to have slept with Meg. “You play with me that sh** was childish/The day before she said that Tory Lanez shot her, I was f***** on Megan Thee Stallion,” he rapped. “Waited to say that sh** on my next album/Hit it the day before too/But I kept it player, I ain’t say nothing ’bout it.”
