As loved ones and hip hop mourn the loss of 1017 artist Big Scarr, the ongoing disagreements between Gucci Mane, his wife and Scarr’s sister continues.
Back on December 22nd, hip hop lost Big Scarr, the 22-year-old rapper out of Memphis. It has been reported that the rapper passed away after overdosing on prescription pills at his girlfriend’s house. Signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 record label, the 42-year-old CEO offered to pay Scarr’s funeral expenses.
But, according to Big Scarr’s close friend, Quezz Ruthless, Gucci Mane went “ghost” and did not keep his word. “You say to them you finna pay for the funeral, then you lie,” Quezz said on Live. “You didn’t have to lie! You ain’t have to go ghost either, cuh. It was gonna get paid for either way. You could’ve just said you ain’t have the money. You don’t get no type of respect for that, cuh.”
According to Quezz, Gucci Mane prioritized his wife Keyshia Ka’oir’s birthday over Big Scarr’s funeral. “The minute that them folks called yo phone to see if you gon’ pay for the funeral, you blocked them. That’s not real, cuh. You ain’t straight, you only trying to act all real. You posted Scarr talking ’bout some long live — bruh, you ain’t do nothing, cuh. When they texted you and asked you about Scarr’s funeral, cuh, you told them folks that Keyshia’s birthday coming up. Man, y’all rich! Y’all can celebrate her birthday any day. Come on now, cuh.”
Gucci Mane’s wife came to the defense of her husband, Monday morning (January 9). Keyshia went on to post receipts totaling $20K for funeral expenses paid to N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral. “PAYMENT DIRECTLY TO FUNERAL HOME! Leave my husband alone” wrote Keyshia on the IG Story. Keyshia also claims flowers were also sent and paid for by Gucci, which was returned with not even a thank you.
Big Scarr’s sister, Alexandra Woods responded back during a live acknowledging Gucci Mane’s $10K. “Yeah Gucci sent ten thousand and there was someone else on another team. So it was twenty thousand in all. And we ain’t get the flowers. I don’t give a f*** what nobody say,” Woods said. “My brother is worth more than 10K,” added Woods, claiming her brother’s funeral cost $60K.
Big Scarr’s 1017 chain has also been allegedly asked to return back to Gucci Mane. A request that close friend Quezz and sister Woods said is not happening.
“You not getting them chains, bruh,” Quezz said during his Live. “You ain’t even text and check on the family, but you text about some chains. I can’t believe you, cuh! You betta not come trying to get these chains. We gon’ have a real problem.”
Big Scarr’s sister also backed up these claims. “YES He asked for the chains back & NO he not getting them hos back!!” she said. “He said he couldn’t pay for the funeral because his wife birthday coming up n**** you a millionaire Gucci a B****!!! Gotta get in back in blood!!!!”
