Rumors are indicating that Kanye West and Adidas are back doing business together with hopes of selling $500 million worth of Yeezy shoes.
The split between Kanye West aka Ye and Adidas occurred towards the end of 2022. West’s antisemitic comments on Revolt’s Drink Champs prompted the shoe company to part ways with Ye. The departure quickly had Kanye West fall off the elite Billionaire list and put Adidas in danger of losing out on $500 million dollars.
According to reports, Ye and Adidas have reached a deal which will enable the two parties to sell and benefit from over $500 million of Yeezy inventory.
Twitter user Ari Ingel claims that a deal has been reached. “Breaking: Apparently Kanye West & @adidas have reached a deal to release the remaining $500 million worth of Yeezy shoes slated for 2023. The renewed deal only focuses on existing inventory,” he tweeted early Friday morning (February 25).
Another user of Twitter (@kurrco) also shared a similar tweet the day before, “Ye (fka Kanye West) & Adidas have reportedly reached an agreement to sell all remaining Yeezy inventory.”
No word on how credible these tweets are, but it certainly has the internet buzzing. The deal could make sense for both parties. Adidas was projected to lose over a billion after splitting with Ye. For West, his finances took a hit after the Adidas split, along with others who are not willing to do business with the rapper.
