Snoop Dogg, Rey Mysterio Enter WM39 Lowriding To 90s Classic
Snoop Dogg joined Rey Mysterio for an epic WrestleMania 39 entrance that involved the Dogg Father’s and Dr. Dre’s 1992 hit single.
The showcase of the immortals, WrestleMania, is in Los Angeles. With 80,000 plus fans on hand Saturday night (April 1), and millions watching at home, Snoop Dogg was called upon to co-host the event. Along with the Miz, The Dogg Father appeared throughout the show co-hosting and providing memorable moments.
“I’m happy that the team wanted me to be a part of it. I was just gonna come and be a fan, but since they asked for me to be a co-host that made it easy on me,” Snoop said.
Perhaps none was more memorable than his WrestleMania 39 entrance with Rey Mysterio. Dubbed as the biggest little man in wrestling history, Rey Mysterio was honored on Friday as he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
As big of an achievement as that was for Rey, he still had a few more incredible moments coming up. On day 1 of WrestleMania Rey would face his own son Dominik Mysterio. For Rey’s entrance, the L.A. native along with Snoop Dogg rode into SoFi Stadium in a lowrider with the 1992 hit single Nothin’ But A G Thang playing in the background. The hit single featuring on Dr. Dre‘s debut album Chronic, the 1992 hit single would also propel Snoop’s career to incredible heights.
“To be able to ride with Snoop was legendary. Nothin’ But A G Thang’ baby was something I heard when I was a kid. When I was growing up. Everybody heard that song. To mix that up into Viva La Raza, the representation of, the representer, the fullest representer of Hispanics, Eddie Guerrero. It’s incredible. I walked into that match very emotional. A lot of my work tonight was in honor of Eddie Guerrero,” said Rey during the WrestleMania press conference.
“I only ride for G’s, you understand me. Welcome to the Hall of Fame baby. Respect. Love and respect. Been waiting on you, you’re here now,” Snoop Dogg tells Rey during behind-the-scenes footage of their WM39 entrance rehearsal.
Night two of WrestleMania takes place tonight (April 2) headlined by Roman Reigns defending his WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes.
