Days after the infamous slap, various celebrities continue to chime in on the matter. 50 Cent praised Chris Rock and suggests the slap can cost Will Smith $100 million dollars.
Although Will Smith has apologized to Chris Rock via a statement on Instagram, 50 Cent still believes the slap will cost the Oscar winner. Known for his entertaining Instagram account, 50 Cent continued to weigh in on the slap heard around the world.
The television executive, praised Chris Rock on Thursday morning (March 31). “I don’t know how @chrisrock held his composure, but i’m glad he didn’t make a mess of the whole thing. #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,” 50 Cent captioned a post on Instagram.
Hours later, 50 Cent shared a video edit of Chris Rock and Will Smith’s Oscar incident. This time 50 Cent echoed Jim Carrey’s suggested price for the infamous slap. In the caption, “This sh-t is funny till that law suit hit, 👀here it come in 5, 4, 3, 2, $100,000,000 😧yeah that’s how this kinda sh-t plays out!”
Jim Carrey also shared the same view point. Recently the actor/comedian spoke with CBS Mornings‘ Gayle King. The scheduled interview was focused on the new movie which comes out April 7th in theaters, but King asked Carrey for his thoughts on the slapping incident. “He didn’t want the hassle,” Carrey said explaining perhaps why Rock did not press charges. “I’d have announced this morning that I was suing Will for $200 million. That video is gonna be there forever. It’s gonna be ubiquitous. You know, that insult is gonna last a very long time.”
